David Diener is a classically trained illustrator, designer and photographer. David was raised in a house with his locally folk artist father who was master craftsman and carver. He went on to study art at Appalachian State University. During this time he study art history and illustration in Italy and France. Where he honed his skills in classic pen drawings, figure studies and detailed architectural drawings. While at App state David took as all the photography classes he could.

Early in his career David worked as a designer for clothing and exterior signage. David then spent the rest of his career working in the cultural resource management field. Where he designed displays, illustrated reports and worked as a cartographer. He also organized geographic data and information.

While working in cultural resource management David honed his skills as a photographer. He taught himself large format photography by the masters such as Ansel Adams. He his documented many historic buildings and structures though out the United States, Virgin Islands and Puerto Rico. You can see examples of his work at New South Associates and Library of Congress.

In the evenings when David was in Atlanta he ran evening sketch group for many years. There he did life studies and taught some figure drawing workshops. His work has been displayed in numerous galleries and spaces throughout the southeast.

David is also the owner of Atlanta Artistic Weddings. David found his passion for photographing people and for capturing life’s biggest moments. The Atlanta wedding photographers are award winning photographers who have been honored to capture hundreds of weddings and giving clients photos that they will cherish forever.
